First graders learn about fire fighters protective gear, how to yell out for help, and not to be afraid of fire fighters. Great presentation!





The upcoming season for the Harry Statham Youth Basketball league (HSYBL) in Brookport is starting soon with sign-ups starting this coming Sunday. Attached is the flyer for this year's league information.

The MSU Commonwealth Honors Academy is an exciting, challenging academic enrichment program for outstanding high school students who have completed their junior year. Ninety students are selected. To qualify, students must have completed the junior year of high school, a composite ACT of 25 or better, a 3.5 GPA on the 4.0 scale, and community involvement. Students will receive six hours of university studies credit and an in-state full-tuition scholarship. The deadline is March 15, 2023 and can be found at https://www.murraystate.edu/cha/.

The Massac CO and Joppa fire departments visited Maple Grove today. They taught our students about fire safety. Thank you all for serving our communities.

The Class of 2023 will be hosting a Vendor Craft Fair on November 19th at the Girl Scout House in Metropolis. If you would like to be a vendor or know someone who would, please contact Deanna Latham @ 618-543-7589 or dlatham@joppa38.com. Proceeds of this event will go towards their Senior Trip and Graduation supplies.


Meet the Teams will start at 5:00 on November 5th. The booster club will be selling hotdogs and hamburgers, athletes will eat for free. There will be some amazing raffle baskets! There will also be uniforms from years past for sale. We will also be honoring the veterans in attendance with free Longhorn appetizer cards. If all goes as planned there will also be an alumni game to wrap up the evening.
