Joppa juniors and seniors were given the opportunity to attend SCC's Career Expo on Thursday. Several students had the opportunity to visit with over 70 vendors to discuss employment. The students also learned more about SCC's programs and SCC's Career Coach.

JHS Senior Beta Club members are selling tickets for a drive-thru fundraiser on Thursday, November 10th, from 5:30-7pm. We will be featuring real hickory smoked pulled pork from Hoskins BBQ in Mayfield, KY. You have two buying options: an $8 plate includes a BBQ sandwich and a serving of loaded potato salad, baked beans, and homemade fried chips; or you may order a sandwich only for $5/ea. Please see any Sr. Beta member to pre-order your meal. You may still purchase on Nov. 10th, but all orders will be a first come, first served basis. Today was PBIS reward day at JHS for the first quarter. The students had their choice of several different activities this afternoon. There was also a drawing for a $25 dollar Sonic gift card. The winner of the gift card was Caden Adkins.

History Teacher Alyssa Schloss and three JHS students, Hayden Forthman, Ava McNeill, and Katherine Harris, attended a workshop with Senator Fowler yesterday at SIU. Thank you, Senator Fowler, for hosting students from all over southern Illinois at this workshop.
The 6th grade class participated in a food drive sponsored by Farm Bureau. They received a classroom greenhouse for participating.
On October 21, Mr. Shannon Lewey, the Recruiting Operations Officer from SIU-C, visited with Joppa's Juniors. He discussed the benefits and opportunities available through SIU's Army ROTC.
