The Yearbook Staff is now accepting submissions for the 2020-2021 yearbook cover art and theme. The young artist selected will be interviewed and included on a page in the yearbook. All entries must be completed on standard 8.5 x 11 in. paper and submitted to emay@joppa38.com by Monday, Nov. 30th. Contact Mr. May for more information.

This is a reminder that Joppa-Maple Grove School District has an early dismissal tomorrow at 1:26 pm for in-person learners. Remote learners have access until 2:26 pm.
The early dismissal is due to the November 11 holiday celebration for Veteran's Day. No school on Wednesday in honor of all military Veterans.
This virtual training will provide individual with a general understanding of professionalism. curriculum and classroom management techniques, school safety, and also district/building operations. This is required for those wishing to obtain a Short-Term Substitute License
The JHS Booster Club is hosting a burgers/dogs grab-and-go supper on November 17. We are offering the choice of a hamburger, a cheeseburger, or a hotdog. Meals will also come with a bag of chips, and a cookie. The cost of each meal is $5. To place an order, please complete the form below. Meals will be available for pick up at the high school cafeteria from 5-6:30 on Tuesday, November 17. Money will be collected when you pick up your meal (cash and check only please). Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF)
The online application for the Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship is available starting on November 1, 2020, at jackierobinson.org. The deadline to submit the application for a JRF Scholarship is February 1, 2021, 5 p.m. ET.
SIU has launched a new major – Business Analytics . Businesses increasingly use Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, etc. to market products to customers and streamline supply chains. Businesses such as Nike, Boeing, Deloitte, (and many others) want employees who can operationalize these tools and develop strategies that maximize their potential. Programs in data science or computer science do a great job teaching the technical details but they do not provide much business training. SIU’s Business Analytics program will teach students how to apply these fields to make businesses more profitable, including how they can incorporate these tools into business strategies. Companies already spend thousands of dollars paying for seminars on these topics so that existing employees can catch up. They desperately want to find graduates who already have the skills and knowledge needed in tomorrow’s workplace. Students can apply now for FREE through November 30 at admissions.siu.edu/apply.

Attention Parents: There has been a price change on the drive-in movie tomorrow night. The cost is 1.00 per person, school-age children through adults, with a maximum 5.00 charge per vehicle. If you have more than 5 in you car, truck, or van, you will still only be charged 5.00. We hope to see you there!
