The Board of Education voted to conduct a Feasibility Study with Massac Unit #1 at the board meeting in July. The decision to do this was to gain information. Due to the closing of EEI, the school board wants to gain as much information as possible in order to make the best decisions for our students and community. At this time, no other decisions have been made with Massac Unit #1.

Student registration for Joppa-Maple Grove District USD #38 will begin Wednesday, August 4th for both returning students and new students. ALL students must register for the 2021-2022 school year. Packets may be picked up in your child's school office from 9:00 – 11:00 and 1:00– 3:00 pm, and filled out in the parking lot and returned the same day, or the day following for those desiring to complete them at home. We request all registration information to be turned in by Monday, August 9, 2021.

National Beta Convention - Incoming junior Sky Keeling placed 4th in Division I Fiber Arts at National Beta Convention in Orlando. Sky previously placed 2nd in the IL State Conference Division. Sky is looking forward to planning several innovative projects for next year’s competitions when she’s not serving her community through volunteer work and various other projects. This is Sky’s third year in Beta Club at Joppa High School.

The Illinois State Tuition Waiver is an opportunity only offered to students who are enrolled in an Army ROTC program. Students who apply and are awarded the ISTW will have 100% of their tuition paid for the semester for which they applied. A student may apply and receive the ISTW every semester they attend Army ROTC, providing they are qualified. This is a great opportunity allowing the student assistance in eliminating the cost of their tuition. The informational event is scheduled for September 18, 2021. Not only does this event allow the student to apply for the ISTW, but also enables them to engage/meet representatives from the Army ROTC program they are interested in attending. Incoming seniors have been sent an email with additional information. There is also an application they will need to complete and submit no later than September 11, 2021.
