Beautiful Day for a Butterfly Release!
First graders have watched and learned all about the life cycle of butterflies.

Pre-k students have enjoyed studying the life cycle of a butterfly by observing caterpillars change from caterpillars, to a chrysalis, to a butterfly. We released them today! Thanks to the Massac County Ag in the Classroom!

The second grade class learned about the life cycle of butterflies. We were able to watch caterpillars hatch, form their chrysalides, and emerge as butterflies. We released them today.

The Senior Beta Club traveled to Springfield, IL, on March 22 for State Convention. They enjoyed a nice dinner together at Joe's Pizza in Mount Vernon and then spent Thursday and Friday competing. We had 14 competitors representing our district; 3 students placed in individual competitions, and our school won one club category.
Sky Keeling: 3rd place - Recyclable Arts, 2nd place - Digital Arts
Ava Stephens: 2nd place - Sculpture
Libbie Lumbley: 3rd place - 12th-grade Math, 3rd place - On-Site Drawing
Our school won 3rd place in 3-Dimensional Design. Sky Keeling, Libbie Lumbley, Ava Stephens, Troy Latham, and Jaelyn Marley constructed a 3D project to enter that category.
