Joppa-Maple Grove Unit District 38 has really felt the love during our transitional time. The overwhelming support from the community near and far is proof of how good people are and how blessed we are. Maple Grove students and staff don't have enough words to describe how grateful we are to everyone who donated and/or sent positive thoughts and encouragement. We wanted to make sure everyone who was there for us is recognized. THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU!

Please check out our Upcoming Events. We hope to see you here!

Good morning Joppa-Maple Grove Families! We have a new Box Top for Education coordinator, Karon Hooks. You do not have to clip them and send them into school anymore. It is all digital. You can just scan them and then our schools get credit for buying things we need. Thank you for participating!

Good afternoon!
This message is to clarify that ALL Maple Grove Car Riders will be picked up from the gym. Families will pick up elementary students where they are dropped off behind the gym.

All high school students are invited to attend a field trip to SIUC for a college/career day. Permission slips went home, but more are available in the office. Please make sure you have turned in your permission slip to go with us. Permission slips are due by September 5.

I apologize. I labeled the wish list as Maple Grove, but it is still saying Wendy Wear's wish list. Just to be clear, it is not my wish list. It is under my name because I set it up for the teachers.
Thank you,
Wendy Wear
Principal, Joppa-Maple Grove

Thank you for all of you who have reached out asking for ways to help. We are taking any book donations, school supplies, money (checks can be made out to Maple Grove), and I am sharing two links. One is for an Amazon Wishlist and the other is for a Scholastic Wish List.

Thank you so much for everything- even if it is just positive thoughts and well wishes. The students and staff are so very grateful

Attention Families: Starting Monday, August 28, 2023, ALL STUDENTS, Pre-K through 12th grade will be attending school in the Joppa High School building located at 911 Joppa North Avenue. We are so excited to have all of our students back in person.
Drop off and pick up routines:
Car Riders
Grades Pre-K through 6th: Families will pull into the driveway on the north side of the building by the picnic tables and garden. Drivers will pull around the back of the building (the ballfield will be on the passenger side) and drive around to the southwest entrance of the gym. There will be staff members there to greet students. (Just like at Maple Grove, but driving around the back side of the building instead of pulling straight in.) This is how drop-off and pick-up will operate.
Grades 7th through 12th: Families will be picked up and dropped off in the parking lot. Please be mindful that our buses will be using the parking lot to pick up and drop off our elementary students at the gym lobby door.
Bus Riders
4th grade through 12th grade bus riders will enter and exit the building at the main doors in front of the school.
Pre-K through 3rd grade bus riders will enter and exit at the doors to the gym lobby.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. We can’t wait to see you all!

Everyone's invited!

The first day of First Grade.
We are ready to read and everyone is present!

Mr. May's sophomore Creative Writing students engaged in a silent writing exercise where they were given three topics: a photo, one of the five senses, and a specific detail to incorporate into their writing. Students then rotated around the room to add to their fellow scholars' writings.
