On Friday, October 29, JHS students will participate in an afternoon field day. Students will receive a free soda and bag of popcorn and participate in several fun activities around the school. The criteria for attending the field day are no tardies and no lunch detentions for the rest of the week. McKendree University representative visited with a couple of juniors who were interested in learning more about McKendree. They were able to learn more about their programs, clubs, and scholarships.
Report cards will be sent home today with the students
Volleyball Senior Night
Shawnee Community College administered the Kuder to Joppa's seniors. Kuder is an interest inventory assessment. It offers resources for career planners at all life stages while supporting collaboration between education, business, and community stakeholders.
Seniors now have the SCC Scholarship booklet. The application will be available on December 1. Until then, seniors can begin organizing their recommendation letters, essays, or resumes as needed.
Illinois Department of Corrections discussed employment opportunities and benefits with the seniors on October 15.
2021-22 Harry Statham Youth Basketball League
Today we are proud to have the Mobile Museum of Tolerance at JHS. Students will be in workshops covering topic's; about; The Anne Frank Story, The Power of Ordinary People and Civil Rights.
Mrs. Rivera's 5th grade kiddos are preparing for their first research project. They are creating Google Slide presentations or poster boards to share information about their Native American region.

3rd grade did the Water Drop Cloud Saturation Experiment today. We answered the question..."How much water can a cloud hold before it rains?" by using cotton balls and water drops from pipettes. They had to have a hypothesis and a conclusion.
