EIU will reduce the cost of your remaining tuition and required fees to $0 if you meet all of these criteria:
1. Your family's annual income is $63,575 or less
2. You are an Illinois resident and current high school student
3. You have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
4. You are admitted to EIU as a full-time incoming freshman (maximum 15 credit hours)
5. You have your EIU financial aid packaged and completed by April 1
6. You meet all other AIM HIGH Grant requirements

Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is excited to offer an opportunity to assist students in their desire to become an SIUE Cougar! October 5 – 18 they are waiving the $40 application fee for students who apply and are admissible based on our criteria for both automatic and provisional admission.
The program is open to all seniors interested in attending SIUE in fall 2021 who meet the following criteria:
• Minimum cumulative 2.6 GPA (4.0 grading scale) for automatic admission
• Cumulative 2.0 to 2.59 GPA (4.0 grading scale) for provisional admission
NOTE: Students who qualify for provisional admission are encouraged to apply; however, they must submit/request one of the following for committee review:
o 7th semester official high school transcript
o Letters of recommendation
o A graded writing sample
o A personal statement that is 250 to500-words addressing why the student wants to attend SIUE and how they plan to overcome any prior academic struggles to ensure success as an SIUE student
o Request a personal interview with the committee

The 2020 application for The Heisman High School Scholarship program presented by Acceptance Insurance is currently open. All High School students graduating as part of the class of 2021 are encouraged to apply. Applicants will have the chance to win up to a $5,000 college scholarship along with the possibility of attending and being highlighted during the ESPN televised Heisman Trophy Presentation Ceremony. Cimarron Ridge Legal Group, a law firm in Grand Junction, Colorado would like to announce the Cimarron Ridge Legal Group Car Accident Scholarship.

The IHSA is excited to share a new, virtual leadership initiative for students and athletes! This initiative is a joint effort between the IHSA and Special Olympics Illinois. Students from both the IHSA Student Advisory Committee and the Special Olympics Illinois Youth Activation Committee have worked together to put this program in place. They are offering it free to all students. Upon completion, you will earn a Youth Leadership Certificate. This is a valuable item for them to include on your resumes and college applications! The program will run from October 5 - March 15. Each student who signs up will be admitted to a Google Classroom which will house all of the information they need to proceed. Each lesson that the student accesses will include a 40-60 minute session with a quiz at the end. Students will have 2 weeks to complete each of the 10 lessons.

Across the country, more people than ever are struggling with mental health right now. That makes this year’s National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month especially poignant for prevention specialists. Be supportive, be kind, be aware.

Meals will be provided for students on Wednesdays at the request of parents. Please call by Monday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. to be added to the Wednesday drop off list. (Call either Maple Grove Elementary or Joppa Jr/Sr High) The Wednesday bus routes will run on their regular route to drop off meals beginning at 11:00, and meals will be provided at the high school for student pick-up from 11:15 to 11:45. We will provide breakfast and lunch.
