The PTO will once again have Santa’s Workshop. It will be a little different this year. The students will get to order from Santa’s “Giftalog”. They will place their orders during the week of December 14 - 17. All orders will be delivered by the 18. Please help your child complete a list of people he/she wants to buy a gift for and send to school on his/her shopping day. Please send 1.00 for each item that will be ordered. Monday - Fifth and Sixth, Tuesday - Third and Fourth, Wednesday - First and Second, Thursday - PreK and Kindergarten. Friday will be set aside in case someone missed the day the class turned in orders. Please make every effort to send list and money on the day your child’s class is shopping. Orders will be filled by teachers, so there will be no volunteers here to help. Thank you.

Dear Parents, students and families, I first want to thank you for your patience and understanding for navigating new challenges and inconveniences this school year. It hasn’t been easy, but we all do our best to pull together and support students. Unfortunately, our region has seen a rapid rise of COVID-19 cases that is both alarming and concerning for our students and staff. Therefore, we are making the extremely difficult decision as an administration and Board of Education to revert all students to remote learning, effective Monday, November 23, 2020. We recognize this decision will please some and anger others. We promise it was not a decision any of us took lightly. At the end of the day, both the administration and board of education felt reverting to remote learning was necessary to protect the health and welfare of not only our students and staff, but also the Joppa-Maple Grove community. At this time, we hope to have students return to school on Monday, December 7, 2020. We recognize you have questions about how this announcement will affect your student and daily schedule. We hope this email can answer some of those questions. As always, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions. We will always try to keep the lines of communication open with families. Meals will continue to be prepared daily. You may pick up meals at the high school from 11:30 to 12:30 today and tomorrow. We will start delivering meals and packets next week. Please make sure to call the school to reserve your meals. High School 543-9023 ext. 1107. Sincerely, Dr. Artman

We wanted everyone to know that the heat is still being worked on at Maple Grove Elementary. We will be in school tomorrow. Temperatures on Thursday and Friday are to be close to the low 70's. It's still a good idea to have a light coat or jacket on when students are sent to school. Thanks for your understanding and patience and we will see everyone tomorrow.
