
Dear Joppa-Maple Grove Community,
My name is Leah Reichert, and I am the Librarian at MAPLE GROVE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. We are launching a Book Blast literacy initiative on 3/6/2023, and the goal of the event is to get as many new, age-appropriate books as possible into the hands of our students.
Our children deserve the opportunity to have more books at home to develop strong literacy skills such as vocabulary, spelling, and reading comprehension, which can lead to more effective communication skills as they become adults. As someone who manages a business and works with people daily, I’m sure you understand just how important these skills are in the development of our youngest generation of kids.
The Book Blast provides an opportunity for you and others in our community to help build up the home library of each student at our school and to help our school receive new books and educational resources. Every dollar you contribute will go toward books and educational supplies for our students and staff!

Petting the cow was fun!


A group of juniors and seniors attended the CTE day at SCC on February 23. Students were able to attend sessions discussion welding, truck driving, auto mechanics, and more.



Maple Grove Jets 6th-grade Boys' basketball team will play in the first round of the 6th-grade tournament on Saturday, February 25, at Maple Grove vs. NSH. The doors will open at 9:30; the game will start at 10:00.


Maple Grove Barnyard Bash, the students had a blast out at Maple Grove today!





The second grade class enjoyed all of the activities put on by our very own Joppa FFA members. Thank you Ms. Heady for getting all of this together. Thank you FFA members for giving your time to make this day a huge success.

10th-grade Health Students are participating in MyPi, which teaches them about emergency preparedness. Today, they are listening to a State Police officer discuss topics such as terrorism, drugs used during crimes, and bombs used during terroristic attacks.



Tonight's 5th and 6th grade Boys basketball game will start at 5:30. Doors will open at 5:00.

In Industrial Tech today, students create Electromagnets from batteries, wires, nails, and tape. They were discussing how STEM has helped evolve our world.
