Joppa FFA competed in Horse Judging at DuQuoin on Friday!
In our varsity team, Jaelyn placed in the top 25 out of 220 individuals. The team overall placed 31st.
JV team's Kali placed 33rd out of 174. The team placed 32nd!
Practice teams Charlene placed 12th out of 150 students. This team placed 24th in their division.

The second grade class adopted a dairy calf for this school year. We named her Fudge. We will post pictures throughout the year of her growth. #Elevate38
The second graders have been making observations on their plant that is growing in the maze. We were correct in our hypothesis. Plants will grow around things in order to reach the sun. #Elevate38
We had a visitor today. Paisley brought her rabbit, Sugar, to meet her classmates. He is a very sweet little rabbit. Everyone loved him! #elevate38

Jr. High Softball Game has been CANCELLED for today.
The 6th graders used petri dishes with agar to grow bacteria. They were divided in to groups and asked to swab a phone, computer keyboard, a mouth, fingernails, water fountain, and the front door. Stay tuned to see which had the most germs!

We are pleased to announce that the new S.O.A.R. After School Program will begin on Tuesday, September 17th in the high school library.
S.O.A.R. (Study Opportunities And Recreation) will be held three days a week on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and will include homework help, tutoring, and potential enrichment and recreational activities . Students will also receive a healthy snack each day.
